A CUSO International volunteer embarks on a 2 year project and adventure as a "food security advisor" in rural Honduras. What is development? How can a North American education and perspective benefit or hinder Central America? How will my knowledge and perspectives be changed and benefitted by living in Central America? How often will I get to salsa dance?
Sources Project
If you're interested to know more details about my work here in Honduras so far, check out this blog we created for one of my projects. http://sourcesfuentes.blogspot.com/
Sources-Fuentes, was a youth leadership project in the topic area of water. The project was a collaboration among Canada World Youth, ASONOG, and CUSO International. I supervised a group of 6 youth leaders (3 Canadian, 3 Honduran) and we toured around the Honduran countryside for 8 weeks learning about water issues, developing a workshop guide, and finally, delivering the workshops to youth in rural Honduras.
An intense and worthwhile experience in my work here so far!
This is the final report I wrote to inform some the partner organizations how things went.
